Aaron Tai-Kang Khai Xing are heading to the Guwahati Masters with renewed confidence after winning their maiden Super 300 title at the Syed Modi International on Sunday.

The world No. 57 recorded their second victory this year over world No. 45 and compatriots Chia Weijie-Lwi Sheng Hao, winning 21-9, 21-19 in the final in Lucknow, India.

In October, the former world junior champions defeated the same pair to win the Malaysia Super 100 in Johor.

Aaron, 19, said he hopes they can maintain their form going into the Guwahati Masters, which begins on Tuesday at the Saru Sajai Sports Complex Indoor Stadium.

They are seeded sixth and will face a qualifier in the first round.

"This win at the Super 300 level has given us a different level of confidence," he said to the BA of Malaysia.

"I hope we can maintain it."

Khai Xing, also 19, said the first game was flawless because they avoided gifting points to their opponents.

"We did really well in the first game by not making too many mistakes," he added.

"In the second, our tempo slowed down, and that is why it got a bit close."

The Malaysian pair had struggled to adapt to the rigours of the senior tour after their world junior title last year, suffering 11 straight early exits this season before their breakthrough in Johor.

Khai Xing admitted they have had an up-and-down season but is overall satisfied with their recent form.

"We are slowly gathering rhythm and momentum despite our up-and-down season," he said.

"We are also getting used to senior-level gameplay, and overall, I'm satisfied with our year."

Aaron-Khai Xing will be joined in Guwahati by world No. 88 Bryan Jeremy Goonting-Fazriq Razif, who will take on world No. 40 K. R. Pruthvi-Krishnaprasad Sai Pratheek of India. World No. 83 Lau Yi Sheng-Lim Tze Jian will square up against world No. 69 Dev Ayyappan-Dhiren Ayyappan of the UAE, while Syed Modi International semi-finalists Faiq Haziq Masawi-Lok Hong Quan will play Indonesia's world No. 103 Anselmus Prasetya-Pulung Ramadhan.

Boon Xin Yuan-Lee Yi Bo will face India's Aditya Diwakar-Kavin Thangam Kavin, while Goh Boon Zhe-Wong Vin Sean will meet Thailand's Pongsakorn Thongkham-Wongsathorn Thongkham.

Syed Modi runners-up Weijie-Sheng Hao will face India's world No. 98 Suraj Goala-Dhruv Rawat.
