Husband, wife killed in Pahang crash involving car and pick-up truck

Two people travelling in a car were killed in a crash involving a four-wheel-drive pick-up truck at Jalan Benta, near the Road Transport Department office in Lipis today.
The victims were identified as Mohd Khair Zainuddin, 55, and his wife, Norzaili Khalil, 49, who were travelling in a Proton Persona.
Pahang Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Mohd Salahuddin Isa said the department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 6.21am.
He said eight firefighters from the Lipis Fire and Rescue Station were immediately deployed to the scene.
"The crash involved a Persona carrying the two victims and a Toyota Hilux carrying two men. The Hilux driver and passenger were taken to hospital before firemen arrived at the scene.
"Two people travelling in the Persona were pronounced dead at the scene. Their bodies were handed over to the police," he said, adding that the operation ended at 7.10am.
