Monkeys, bird droppings and cleanliness could prove to be bigger challenges than the opposition for Justin Hoh at the World Championships in New Delhi from Aug 17-23.

The Malaysian world No. 45 hopes the problems that marred the India Open at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, will not recur at the world meet.

At the India Open in January, players had to put up with bird droppings falling onto courts, poor training facilities, air pollution and even monkeys roaming around the stadium at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex.

Justin admitted that the conditions in India were far from ideal, but believes the organisers will do much better for the prestigious World Championships.

"When we were there in January, all sorts of things happened, including the monkey issue. I believe they will improve all of that this time," said Justin on Tuesday.

"Conditions in India are always very challenging. We have to prepare as well as possible, including bringing our own food. But I think they will make improvements for the World Championships because it's a major event."

The 22-year-old said off-court factors could affect a player's focus during the tournament. Nonetheless, Justin is excited about making his World Championships debut.

"This will be my first World Championships, so I'm really excited because it's one of the biggest tournaments in badminton. I'm just focusing on my preparations and not thinking too much about the draw.

"Even if I have to play a top-ranked player, I don't mind. All the best players will be there. I just want to be as prepared as possible and produce my best performance."
