Low Zi Yu's bid for two titles at the Asian Junior Championships ended today in Yatsushiro, Japan.
Nonetheless, she remains in contention for mixed doubles glory with Ahmad Redzuan Zulwaqqarizal.
Zi Yu-Redzuan defeated Taiwan's Lin Sheng Ming-Sun Liang Ching 21-16, 23-25, 21-10 in the mixed doubles semi-final.
The Malaysian duo will face China's Zheng Wei Gang-Li Meng Han in Sunday's title decider.
Tan Wee Kiong-Woon Khe Wei are so far the only Malaysians to have won the mixed doubles title at the Asian Junior Championships, achieving the feat in 2007.
Zi Yu's hopes of completing a double were dashed when she and Genevie Lim lost 16-21, 21-17, 21-17 to Japan's second seeds Aoi Bano-Yuzu Ueno in the girls' doubles semi-final.
