Professional duo Nur Azriyn Ayub-Tan Wee Kiong's struggles on the World Tour showed little sign of easing after they suffered another early exit at the Indonesia Open on Tuesday.
The world No. 24 pair were beaten 21-18, 21-10 by India's world No. 30 Hariharan Amsakarunan-M.R. Arjun in the opening round at Istora Senayan.
The defeat marked their second consecutive first-round exit following last week's Singapore Open and continued a frustrating season in which they have struggled to make an impact on the World Tour.
The latest setback means Azriyn-Wee Kiong have now failed to progress beyond the the last-16 in nine out of the 10 World Tour tournaments entered this season, with their best result remaining a last-eight finish at the Thailand Masters in January.
They have also suffered four first-round exits this year, at the India Open, All England, Singapore Open and Indonesia Open.
