No podium finish for Pandelela at Asian Games

Former Olympic silver medallist Pandelela Rinong finished a disappointing sixth among 11 competitors in the Asian Games women's 10m platform final at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old diver scored 289.15 points in her pet event in what could be her final appearance at the Asiad.

China's Chen Yu Xi won the gold medal with 432.65 while compatriot Lu Wei took silver with 385.40. North Korean Mi Jo Jin earned bronze (363.80).

Pandelela's best achievement in the Asian Games was winning a silver in the 10m synchronised event with Leong Mun Yee at the 2010 Guangzhou edition. She has also won four Asiad bronzes.

Her scores of 58.50, 59.45, 57.60, 52.80 and 60.80 weren't enough to earn her another podium finish.

Meanwhile debutante Nur Eilisha Rania Abrar Raj finished last out of 11 divers after registering 216.60.
