Women's doubles pair Noraqilah Maisarah Ramdan-Low Zi Yu refuse to put too much pressure on their shoulders in their quest to break into the world's top-50.
The world No. 84 have been on an upward trajectory this season, most notably pulling off a surprise win over world No. 7 Japanese pair Rin Iwanaga-Kie Nakanishi during the Uber Cup in Horsens, Denmark.
This breakthrough victory signaled their growing ability to compete with established names in women's doubles.
After their Uber Cup exploits, they entered their first World Tour final at the China Masters last month.
However, they were beaten by a more experienced pair in Japan's No. 49 Sumire Nakade-Miyu Takahashi 21-13, 21-17.
Noraqilah, 19, said the pair are approaching the remainder of the season without putting undue pressure on themselves.
"No pressure, we want to enjoy every match because there is still a lot to learn," she said.
"We are focused on individual preparation to strengthen each other's game.
Zi Yu, however, was candid about the work that still lies ahead, pointing to consistency as the key area they must address before they can realistically challenge higher-ranked pairs.
"We don't want to overthink as that can affect our game. What matters now is to focus on improving our performance.
"Our performance has not been consistent and we need to sharpen our game to be able to challenge pairs with higher rankings," she said.
Their next assignment will see them head to Sydney for the Australian Open from June 9-14.
