Jimmy Wong-Cheng Su Yin's bid to score back-to-back victories over world No. 1 pair Feng Yan Zhe-Huang Dong Ping fell short as the Malaysians exited the Indonesia Open in the opening round on Tuesday.

The pair lost 21-19, 21-18 to the Chinese top seeds at Istora Senayan.

The defeat came just a week after Jimmy-Su Yin shocked Yan Zhe-Dong Ping in Singapore, a breakthrough victory that announced their potential as a newly formed partnership.

While lightning did not strike twice in Jakarta, the Malaysians once again showed glimpses of promise against one of the strongest mixed doubles combinations in the world.
